I watched this show for two reasons:
2) There’s a second season airing this fall. Normally, one would rather not have to keep up with yet another airing series in a packed season, but I dunno. I like being able to keep up with series discussions as they air.
Plus, it’s a short 12 eps + OVA, so I figured why not.
Overall, the series was okay. Nothing special, but not bad. And well, that’s really all that I expected. I didn’t think it was enough of a success to make a sequel to, but I’d definitely choose a K†M sequel over a few certain others… -cough- whitealbumasuracryin’ -cough-
To be honest, I was disappointed. The characters had some pretty good designs, all tackiness aside, but there just wasn’t much depth to them besides Kan’u. You’ve probably never heard of most of the seiyuu before.
Kan’u / Aisha (CV: Kurokawa Nami) is the main character, known as the beautiful black-haired bandit hunter. She’s on a mission to make the world a better place (seriously). Kan’u’s a nice character, but in the end I just couldn’t get used to her voice.
Chouhi / Lin Lin (CV: Nishizawa Hiroka) joins Kan’u in the first episode and they become sworn sisters… or something. She’s your typical genki loli that loves to eat. Think Kataoka Yuuki from Saki. Unlike Yuuki though, it didn’t take long for Chouhi to start irritating me.
Chouun / Sei (CV: Motoi Emi) is the next to join Kan’u’s group. You know, I only just realized how similar Chouun’s and Chouhi’s names are when typing this. The two are complete opposites though – Chouun is more of a kuudere-type. Butterfly Mask was lol.
Bachou / Sui (CV: Kobayashi Maki) is another genki girl. Naturally, she gets along well with Chouhi. I didn’t like her that much, but she was bearable.
Shokatsuryou / Shuri (CV: Narumi Erika) is a moe moe loli. Normally I wouldn’t like this kind of character, but she’s just so… lovable. ;_;
Minor characters include Sousou / Karin (a hardcore yuri-ist), Ryofu / Ren (strong but weak to cats), Chouryou / Shia (a random drunk warrior), Kouchuu / Shion and her daughter Riri, and a bunch of others that aren’t worth the space to mention.
My character rankings: Shokatsuryou > Kan’u > Chouun > Chouhi > Sei
K†M doesn’t have much of a plot. It basically just follows Kan’u’s adventures, and the people she meets. People come and go, and there’s some yuri here and there. Overall it was a fun show, and was good enough for me to finish watching.
OP: “flower of bravery” – fripSide
ED: “やっぱり世界はあたし☆れじぇんど!! (Yappari Sekai wa Atashi☆Legend!!)” – fripSide NAO project!
The OP is a nice song; suited the series well. ED song + animation is really cute.
I guess if I had to give a rating:
