Late post because apparently assignments are serious business. The full, completed chart can be found here. Quarterfinals chart will be up with the next post.

Average block final vote count:
2006 – 1816

2008 – 2150
2009 – 1462
2010 – 1613
2011 – 686

Vote: Astarotte Ygvar
Prediction: Misaka Mikoto

Wow, Lotte actually did it. Apparently there was some cheating going on in the previous rounds, inflating Mikoto’s votes by a lot (likely the reason why she beat Homura and Victorique). This cheating has now been dealt with so she even loses to the likes of Lotte… I like Lotte more so I’m happy about this, but at the same time it kinda sucks because Mikoto was one of the few that could stand up to the MadoMagi faction. But I guess her power was only half of what we all thought it was…

Vote: Tachibana Kanade
Prediction: Tachibana Kanade

Another wrong prediction. Apparently the cheater had sided with Tenshi too. Unlike the previous match, this one really makes me sad because Tenshi was my second favourite girl left. Graying out her picture was so depressing. ):
Well, Strike Witches has finally made their way into the top 8, so I guess they’re satisfied. Erica is cute but like Lotte, can’t stand up to the puella magi. Tenshi at least had a good shot at it. Well, what’s done is done, I guess. Tenshi ):
(I was saving some of her fanart for future images, too…)

Vote: Elucia de Lute Ima
Prediction: Kaname Madoka

Unlike the previous two matches, this one goes just as expected. MadoMagi really seems to be unstoppable now, since the only ones that seemed to stand a chance against them were found guilty of cheating. Madoka herself doing well in the tournament was a given from the start, so this isn’t too bad either way. It’s sad that Elsie had to lose here, but oh well.

Vote: Ika Musume
Prediction: Ika Musume

Strong win for Ika, but she doesn’t match the vote count for the other winners so far. There’s also less than a 100-vote gap between her and Yuno. Luckily, the second season has been received pretty well so she’ll get a boost in her future matches. I doubt she can win against any puella magi at this rate, though.

Vote: Haqua du Lot Herminium
Prediction: Miki Sayaka

Sayaka follows in Madoka’s footsteps and destroys her Kaminomi opponent. Haqua is my favourite Kaminomi girl and Sayaka is my least favourite MadoMagi girl. <_<
It looked to be a close match between the two but then when the fakes were removed, it was such a glaring victory for Sayaka… at least Kaminomi had a decent run this year.

Vote: Tomoe Mami
Prediction: Tomoe Mami

Mami absolutely demolishes Shirayuki as expected. Mami is looking to be the strongest of the puella magi (had Homura not lost to Mikoto, that role would be hers…) whereas Hidan no Aria had been weakening and Shirayuki is annoying as hell anyway. I want to complain about series domination but orz Shirayuki.

Vote: Sakura Kyouko
Prediction: Sakura Kyouko

And the fourth remaining MadoMagi girl also wins with ease. I’d never thought of Index as particularly strong so her win against Kirino was a huge shock to me. I wonder how this match would’ve gone if it’d been Kirino in Index’s place… perhaps she might’ve even won. It’d make for much more interesting quarterfinals, at any rate.
Anyway, all of the puella magi have survived this far, except Homura, the only one I really cared about. Yay…

Vote: Kuroneko
Prediction: Kuroneko

Another match that looked close; didn’t end up as one-sided as Block E though. Kuroneko’s numbers are impressive enough to compare with the MadoMagi faction, so it’s looking good for her. On the other hand, it’s not so great if she’s already struggling against IS. Anyway, she is my favourite girl remaining so I’m really hoping she can overcome the MadoMagi faction.
